The WORTHY portrait series was created to honor women over 40 - not as a category, but as a movement. It was created to push back against the idea that our worth is tied to youth, perfection, or the expectations of others. Instead, WORTHY celebrates authenticity, power, and the grace that comes from fully inhabiting who you are, right now.

When Jamie first heard about the WORTHY series, she felt something stir inside her. The project - a curated celebration of women boldly owning their presence - spoke to a deep part of her. But like many of us, her first instinct was to shrink back.

This offering brings the magic of a professional portrait experience into reach for those looking to capture just a few images on a more frequent basis.

My recent month-long adventure to South Africa and Namibia was truly the trip of a lifetime. From the bustling energy of New York and the charm of Paris to the raw beauty of Cape Town, the untamed wilderness of Kruger National Park, and the striking landscapes of Namibia, this was a journey that blended luxury, adventure, and discovery in the most unforgettable way.

This journey I jumped into, is at minimum, a path to self discovery. As my pageant director declared: It’s a competition against my best self. I knew I was vulnerable to unfavorable opinions and that I had to fit myself into a box to represent a brand. And, as I nervously step up to my commitments in crown, I’ve started my refinement. Among other revelations, I am better at letting my anxiety redirect me, speaking even more clearly, and maintaining poise throughout authentic engagements.

While on your journey of conquest you may not have the epitome of a fairytale you imagined.  You will trip, perhaps not fall.  You will get lost, perhaps not disoriented.  You will become scarred, perhaps not all scars are visible.  You will learn humility, gratitude, and true endurance.  These are the stories for this book of life.

Hello! My name is Jenn. I was diagnosed with CMI in 2016 at the age of 28. I considered myself grateful for this diagnosis as it provided an explanation for my chronic invisible illnesses. In a way I was relieved because my chemotherapy was in the form of a daily pill. Then if I stayed in remission for 2 years without treatment, I was considered “cured”. I thought to myself this was the best possible prognosis I could receive to be diagnosed with a blood cancer. It is now 2024 and I am still taking oral chemotherapy daily…

My personal life had seen a lot of changes. I was divorced, my first marriage only technically lasted a few years, a year and a half longer than it should have! I met my fiancé Erick and moved in with him shortly before the pandemic. Our wedding is this summer. I had always struggled with my weight, and my health issues seemed to be getting out of control, so I had weight loss surgery last August. Since then, my health issues seem to have gone away and I have lost about 70 pounds. Around the time of my surgery, my professional life also became an entanglement where I was in direct competition for a promotion with someone I had known professionally for over 10 years and I considered a friend.

A Survivor’s Strength: Beast Cancer Portrait Session

During the time I was in the beginning, middle and end of my Worthy Project, I was asked "Why women over 40?" Well, the first reason was simple, I too am a woman over 40, and I wanted to be an example of someone who was worthy of being seen, not just on my cell or my family and friends mobile phones. I think like many (most) women, we are the one's taking the pictures, as we love our family and friends and want pictures of them, but we often neglect ourselves in the same frames. We are more comfortable behind the camera, because women who want their picture taken, well those women are conceited, selfish and self centered......nope!

My last chemotherapy treatment was on January 11, 2024. I still have a lot of rehab to do. My oncologist says it may take 6 months or so for all the chemo to be out of my system. How I’m feeling today? Well I have gained 30 lbs after being close to under 100lbs, my appetite is somewhat back to normal but I have my days. I’m still experiencing a lot of pain in my abdomen and other surgical areas which makes it hard for me to do too much activity. I’m still very fatigued and sleep for most of the day. I go back to the Oncologist in early March for CT Scans and other testing to make sure all of my cancer is gone. I’m looking forward to that day.

We are excited to announce our latest personal project, The JUST YOU Project, an authentic fine art implied nudity and raw photographic images of women over the age of 30. This project is all about empowering women to be the best version of themselves and be comfortable in their own skin, no matter their size or shape, and regardless of societal standards of beauty.
