You Called About a LinkedIn Photo. Let's Talk About Everything Else.

So many of our calls start the same way - “I just need a new headshot for LinkedIn.”

The image you’re currently using is 5-10 years old. You've changed jobs since then; maybe even industries. You just aren’t that person anymore. In so many ways.

You do need a new LinkedIn photo. That part is true. But if you leave my studio still thinking the same way, I didn't do my job. Because most images need to work a lot harder than that.

Where This Photo Actually Gets Used

Once we create a strong image, you’re going to use it in more places than you think.

  • Your Teams profile

  • Your Zoom account (when your camera is off they’re staring at the image the WHOLE time)

  • Your email signature

  • The media kit for a conference you're speaking at

  • The promo graphic for the podcast you're on

  • Your company's "meet the team" page

  • The bio photo next to your byline when you provide written contributions

And then there's the one people don't mention on the phone: your own website - for the passion project you’re building on the side. A lot of our clients are already running something outside their day job such as a coaching practice, a startup, a consulting business, a creative venture that they’re weekend-warrioring.

They call about a LinkedIn photo and end up walking out with the first real image for a website that's been sitting half-built for a year.

What Happens During Your Session

Here's the part that usually surprises people. You booked a headshot session, but once you're here, the time is yours, and we rarely stop at the corporate-approved smile.

We'll still get you the LinkedIn shot and everything else on that list. But the lights are already set and your hair and makeup are already done, so we’re probably going to shoot a few other things while we're at it. Just in case ;)

Maybe it’s a beauty shot without the "corporate rah-rah" energy or a portrait where you look more like the person your friends know than your job title. Sometimes something quieter too. A shot where you're actually not smiling at all, just to have one that looks like you on a Sunday morning rather than you on a Monday afternoon.

You don't have to stay "on" for the whole session. Some of the images clients end up loving most are the ones captured during the in-between moments.

More Than One Type of Portrait

No two branding sessions in my studio end up looking the same, and that's really the point.

Each session gets shaped around what that person actually needs, not the single pose that's supposed to be "good enough” for anyone.

This is the reason that makes a session worth more than the reason you booked it. It's not just the lighting or the backdrop, though both matter. It's walking out with images for the parts of your life you didn't even think to mention on the phone.
